Applies to: SubTracker version 1.0 and above
SubTracker only collects information that you manually enter into the app. We collect no data without your explicit knowledge or action.
The data you provide includes:
- Service names you add (e.g. Netflix, Spotify, iCloud+)
- Pricing and billing cycle you specify for each subscription
- Billing dates and service categories you assign
- Emojis or icons you choose to represent each entry
- Optional personal notes you attach to a subscription
ℹ️
SubTracker does not connect to your bank account, credit cards, or any financial service. All data is entered manually by you.
Data you enter is used solely to power the app's features and deliver a useful experience. Specifically, your data is used to:
- Display your subscription list and spending summaries
- Send local reminder notifications before billing dates
- Calculate monthly, yearly, and per-day cost estimates
- Generate spending analytics and category breakdowns
We do not use your data for advertising, user profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating the app.
All SubTracker data is stored locally on your iPhone using UserDefaults — Apple's built-in, sandboxed storage system. No data ever leaves your device.
✅
Your data is never transmitted to any external server. There is no cloud backend, no database, and no remote storage involved.
Your data is protected by:
- iOS Data Protection APIs — files are encrypted at rest
- App sandboxing — no other app can read SubTracker's data
- Device-level encryption when a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID is enabled
SubTracker does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party under any circumstances.
- No third-party analytics SDKs (e.g. Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude)
- No advertising networks or ad tracking
- No data sent to our servers or partner servers
- No behavioural tracking or session recording
The only frameworks used are official Apple SDKs (SwiftUI, Foundation, UserNotifications), which are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
SubTracker may request the following permission from your device:
- Notifications — to send local reminders before a subscription billing date. You can revoke this at any time in iOS Settings → SubTracker → Notifications.
SubTracker does not request access to:
- Contacts, camera, microphone, or photo library
- Location services
- Biometric data (beyond what iOS manages for device security)
- Social accounts or any third-party sign-in
💡
All permissions are optional. SubTracker works fully without granting notification access.
You have complete control over your data at all times:
- Access — view all stored data directly inside the app at any time
- Correction — edit or update any entry whenever you like
- Deletion — delete individual subscriptions, or erase all data via Settings → Reset Data
- Full removal — uninstalling SubTracker permanently deletes all associated data from your device
Because everything is stored locally, there is no account to close and no server-side data to request deletion of.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we do, we will:
- Announce changes via an App Store update release note
- Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
- Allow a 7-day notice period before changes take effect
Continued use of the app after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
